GLUCOSAMINE SULPHATE

Supplementary Glucosamine is derived from chitin a compound found in shells in shrimp, crabs and other sea creatures. Glucosamine is found naturally in the body, made from glutamine and glucose. Glucosamine is needed to produce glycosaminoglycan, a molecule used in the formation and repair of cartilage and other body tissues. Production of glucosamine slows with age hence why many people choose to supplement with glucosamine.

Glucosamine is commonly used to prevent osteoarthritis, assisting the strength of knees, elbows and other joints by rebuilding cartilage. Glucosamine is also said to alleviate the pain associated with arthritic pain. Note that our Glucosamine is the sulphate type which is considered far more effective than the hydrochloride type for maintenance of joints and reducing pain.

Healthy athletes often supplement with glucosamine to prevent joint and cartilage injury ocuring in the first place.

Dosage

A typical dose of glucosamine is between 1000mg and 2000mg a day. Glucosamine should not be taken by anyone with allergies to shellfish.

Our Glucosamine is pharmaceutical grade as close to 100% purity as possible.
