Record-breaking Adventurer and Bulk Nutrients Ambassador Kyle Williams takes on the ‘Three Peaks Challenge’ against a Jeep Wrangler to raise funds and awareness for youth charity Whitelion.

At Bulk Nutrients, we pride ourselves on delivering you the highest quality supplements that cover every sporting or fitness need. We also pride ourselves on giving back to the community as much as we can. We sponsor a diverse range of Australian athletes and support many charity causes whenever we can. So, when Bulk Nutrients Ambassador and Record-Breaking Adventurer Kyle Williams told us about his latest ‘White Lion Man Vs Machine Three Peaks Challenge’, we were thrilled to get on board!

On March 19, Kyle is set to take on one of his biggest challenges yet, racing three of the highest peaks in Australia and this time, he’s not just racing against the clock, he will be pitting himself against a Jeep Wrangler to see who can make it to the finish first, ‘Man or Machine.’ This event will raise funds and awareness for youth charity, Whitelion, who open doors to opportunities, positive relationships and community connections for youth at risk aged between 10 to 25 years old, with practical support such as mentoring programs, education and employment.

2016 marks the 10th anniversary of Whitelion’s ‘Three Peaks Challenge’ where 140+ people, including young people helped by Whitelion, will aim to reach the summit of three of the highest peaks in Australia; Mt Bogong (VIC), Mt Kosciusko (NSW) and Mt Tennent (ACT).

As the rest of the ‘Three Peakers’ are aiming to complete the challenge in 33 hours or under, Kyle has set himself the challenge of getting over all three peaks in a record-setting 19 hours, whilst under the pressure of knowing that the Jeep team will be close by.

Kyle will have the advantage of being able to go up all routes of each of the mountains, whereas the Jeep team will have to endure hardly-used tracks and off-road options up the mountains that could have debris and trees strewn across them. Carrying chainsaws and other equipment, the Jeep team is determined that nothing will get in their way so that they can make it to the finish before Kyle.

As a Bulk Nutrients sponsored athlete since 2014, Kyle has set an incredible series of endurance records across Australia’s mountains. In 2013, Kyle set a world record by becoming the first person to climb all of Australia’s highest mainland mountains nonstop. Kyle’s ‘A2k’ adventure, as featured in Australian Geographic Online, required climbing 26 mountain peaks of 2000 metres or higher whilst hiking 130 kilometres across Australia’s Snowy Mountains through vast amounts of off-trail snow terrain, gaining nearly 6000 metres of elevation, enduring 48 hours of no sleep and surviving extreme alpine weather conditions.

In 2014, Kyle became the first person to run an 82-kilometre ultra-marathon across the Snowy Mountains whilst climbing its highest 21 peaks. In 2015, Kyle set a world record for the fastest time to climb the highest peak in each Australian State and Territory (8 Peaks in 8 States under 6 days).

The best part is that it doesn’t matter who summits first, or even whether any new world records are set. The true winners will be Whitelion and the young people of Australia they work with. And that’s something we’re very proud to be a part of. Whitelion provides such an amazing service to the community and Bulk Nutrients is absolutely thrilled to be able to support this fun and exciting project.
