Bulk Nutrients and Mobart Mo Bros team up in 2020
2020 has been a turbulent year, to say the very least. Lockdown, social distancing and border restrictions have resulted in a year filled with extreme uncertainty and stress. At Bulk Nutrients, we believe its more important than ever we continue to shine the spotlight on mental health issues.
We have always been committed to helping people achieve great overall health, and mental health is a huge component of that. That’s why this November we’ve partnered with Tom Windsor the captain and founder of Mobart Mo Bros to spread awareness of men's health issues.
Tom and the Mobart team aim to raise funds and awareness to support mental health and suicide prevention as well as the fight against testicular and prostate cancer in Movember.
Bulk Nutrients has joined forces with the Mobart Mo Bros to spread the word about men's health this Movember
The start of the Mobart Mo Bros
In 2006 a good friend of Tom’s approached him to get a group of guys together to grow Mos for Movember. At the time, mental health was at the front of mind for Tom as 12 months earlier his father lost his battle with depression. Even during the toughest times, Toms motley crew of mates were always there to support him and his family. This is when Tom and a group of mates first started the Mobart Mo Bros.
The Mobart Mo Bros adopted the Mos for Movember movement and found that simply growing a mo for Movember was a positive and lighthearted way to start the conversation about men's mental health whilst also raising some money and awareness for a great cause.
Tom Winsdor started the Mobart Mo Bros back in 2006 with his mates as a way to support men's mental health after losing his father to depression.
The Mobart community today
Over the following 15 years, Tom’s continued commitment to helping others with mental health issues and with the support of friends, families and small local businesses, Mobart has flourished from a small group of mates to a large Movember community. Mobart now has over 600 registered Mo Bros and Mo Sistas participants in fundraising events.
Mobart has used a range of events to raise funds and awareness, such as the Point to Pinnacle half marathon run up Mt Wellington, cycling across Tassie and surfing a giant 30ft wave whilst holding an inflatable moustache.
In total, Mobart has raised over 900 thousand dollars and has been the highest Movember fundraising team in Australia over the past 4 years, raising over 185 thousand dollars last year alone. Individually Tom has raised over 50 thousand dollars through Movember donations since 2006.
This year Tom won the 2020 Tasmania local hero of the year award for his over a decade long dedication to raising awareness and funds for major health issues that affect men.

Keen to join in on Movember this year? There are so many ways you can take part. From growing a mo, walking or running 60km over the month for the 60 men lost to suicide every hour across the world or completing a live or virtual challenge with your mates.
In Australia suicide is the leading killer of males between 15 – 44 years, that’s 6 young men every day. This statistic is at the very core of why Mobart aims to stop men from dying too young. Let’s band together and help support men’s health this year.
