Whatever you’re up to, this recipe will get you ready for it.

Serves: 2 (or 1 very hungry athlete)

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop (30g) Bulk Nutrients WPI, WPC, Protein Matrix+ or MuscleFood 101 in Vanilla
  • 1 cup whole oats
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • teaspoon honey – plus extra to serve
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 20g raisins
  • 20g sultanas
  • 1-2 apples – cored and chopped
  • 1 cinnamon quill (or ground cinnamon) for topping
  • Crushed nuts for topping – we love pecans and apples together!
  • Coconut oil – to cook

Directions

  1. Soak oats and sultanas or raisins with water for at least an hour prior to cooking.  For best results, soak them overnight.
  2. Using a large pan, melt coconut oil and add cinnamon.
  3. Slice apples thinly and add them to the pan, occasionally stirring for 3-5 minutes or until tender.
  4. Prepare the oat mix:
    1. On the stove top by adding almond milk, cinnamon and honey to oats and cooking for 5-10 minutes.  Once the mixture has reached the desired consistency, stir in the scoop of protein.  Pour into a bowl with additional almond milk is desired and top with cooked apple mix, a drizzle of honey and crushed nuts.
    2. In the microwave by adding almond milk, cinnamon and honey to oats and cooking for 3-4 minutes on high.  Once the mixture has reached the desired consistency, stir in the scoop of protein.  Pour into a bowl with additional almond milk is desired and top with cooked apple mix, a drizzle of honey and crushed nuts.
