Judo is a grappling-type combat sport originally based on the martial art from Japan.
The object of Judo is to either throw or takedown an opponent to the ground, then uses techniques to overpower and subdue the opponent and force a submission through a pin, joint lock or tap. Like other grappling-type combat sports it relies heavily on strength, speed and technique.
Training consists of skill-based practice either with a bag or sparring with an opponent, which is great cardio. Addition resistance training will provide great benefits with increased strength and speed in the Judo ring.
Supplementing with creatine can help increase strength and power and a high-quality protein supplement will promote lean muscle growth and aid recovery after trainings and matches.
