Laxogenin is a plant based hormone which is isolated from the smilax sieboldii plant, a species common to China and Japan.
First isolated in 1992 it is considered a steroidal sapogenin similar to Tribulus, however it is proven to be much more effective.
The active ingredients Brassinosteroids are said to be responsible for the muscle building and strength properties, having a positive effect on lean muscle growth, by increasing protein synthesis and inhibiting muscle breakdown.
Bulk Nutrients' Laxogenin Capsules are blended with Phosphatidylcholine to enhance absorption and uptake, with each capsule containing 25mg of Laxogenin and 100mg of Phosphatidylcholine.
A typical dose of Laxogenin is 2 - 4 capsules (50 - 100mg) per day. This is based on an 85kg man.
Daily dose of Laxogenin can be split between morning and night.
For best results we recommend cycling off the product for a period after 4 - 6 weeks of continual dosing.
Polydextrose, Phosphatidylcholine, Laxogenin.
Capsules contain gelatin.

What is Laxogenin?
Laxogenin is a sapogenin, a natural anabolic agent which is derived from the plant smilax siboldii. It is said to have similar effects to anabolic compounds, however, Laxogenin is natural and is not liver toxic.
It is primarily taken to improve strength and increase muscle volume, as well as to increase recovery effects after training.
What is a typical dose of Laxogenin?
A standard dose is approximately 100mg, which is 4 x 25mg capsules of the Bulk Nutrients product. Some people use lower doses, while others prefer higher doses. Dosing around 200mg has been reported to cause headaches, which is why doses around 100mg are recommended.
How does Laxogenin work in the body?
Laxogenin is said to work by promoting lipolysis by binding to the androgen receptor. By enhancing triiodothyronine (T3) and reducing thyroid binding globulin. The closet evidence for Laxogenins effectiveness is a study done on rats using the brassinosteroid, 28-Homobrassinolide (HB). The results were that it stimulated protein synthesis and inhibited protein degradation.
Notably, the study showed positive effects with no androgenic side effects.
What kind of real world benefits can I expect?
Recovery from injury may well be faster
Strength will be improved, in a similar way to using a product such as creatine
Which people should / shouldn’t use Laxogein?
Competitive “natural” athletes should be great responders to Laxogenin
Athletes who are suffering from injury could use Laxogenin during the recovery process.
While still useful for women, men seem to respond better to Laxogenin due to the effects of testosterone on brassinosteroids. Higher testosterone levels seem to further enhance its benefits. This is backed up by some women being virtually “non responders”.
Is Laxogenin ok for drug tested / natural athletes?
Laxogenin is not on any WADA / ASADA prohibited substance lists as of August 2018. Laxogenin does not raise testosterone so it is very unlikely it could trigger a failed test due to hormonal level changes.
What about absorption, is this a problem with Laxogenin?
Laxogenin appears to have some issues with absorption, which can be countered one of two ways. The first is by transdermal absorption (applying it to the skin as a lotion) the other when combined with another compound, such as phosphatidylcholine which can assist absorption.
At Bulk Nutrients, we have included phosphatidylcholine at 100mg per capsule alongside 25mg of Laxogenin to increase absorption.
What time of the day should I use Laxogenin?
There is no right or wrong time of the day to take Laxogenin, the most important thing is using it daily, so don’t skip doses. If doses are missed, we do not recommend extra is consumed.
Can I take Laxogenin with other supplements?
Laxogenin is fine to use with other supplements such as Creatine, Glutamine, Protein etc. It is logical that Laxogenin would be even more effective when combined with products such as Testosterone boosters, as anecdotal reports suggest effects seem to be greater when testosterone levels are higher (hence why men are better responders).
Does Laxogenin require cycling?
Studies on rats using 28-Homobrassinolide showed that no androgenic side effects were recorded, and that hormonal levels are not affected. Anecdotal reports of Laxogenin suggest that many people find optimum benefits when cycles between 8 – 10 weeks are run. An “off” period of 4 – 6 weeks would then follow.
How do I know that Bulk Nutrients Laxogenin is real?
Laxogenin is an extremely expensive compound, one that we pay a lot of money for. We purchase Laxogenin from our very trusted supplier (who we have dealt with for over 5 years and supplies us with millions of dollars’ worth of stock each year), we only receive the Laxogenin after approving the laboratory reports on its purity.
Bulk Nutrients regularly tests its own compounds for purity in Australia through HPLC testing, with our ingredients having an impeccable record. We 100% guarantee the purity and potency of our Laxogenin.
