Toyota’s F1 team doctor, Riccardo Ceccarelli, was once quoted as saying that grand prix racing was the most physically demanding sport in the world, with some drivers on par with the world’s best in aerobic ability, upper body and leg strength, and the ability to perform while dehydrated with a heart rate of up to 198 beats per minute.
