  • Awesome when made properly

Posted by on Jul 04, 2018

I bought the multi-packs and first tried the vanilla chai. I misread the instructions and made the "paste" with boiling water, which cooked the whey and resulted in large, cottage-cheese style clumps when I added the remainder of the hot water. I then tried the chocolate one using cold water to make the paste, and gradually adding 2tbsp or so of boiling water to the mix each time stirring, until the cup was full. You essentially have to temper the whey, like when making custard, otherwise the proteins will cook and become like clumpy scrambled eggs.
The sweetness, creaminess and flavour was great. No weird protein aftertaste. I would just like the chocolate flavour to be a little more heavy-hitting, it's pretty mild. Will probably add extra cacao and spices when making in future. No bloating from this product either. Would definitely buy again!

  • Vanilla Chai without the guilt!

Absolutely obsessed with the Vanilla Chai!
I add a tad of cinnamon before stirring the first 2Tbsp of cold liquid... Reminds me of a not so clean Chai Latte.

  • Awesome!

I don't know why people struggle with the mixing bit. Have had no issues with mixing although I do use a fork and not a spoon. Both flavours are surprisingly good, but my favourite is chocolate.

Love the taste of the chocholate flavour, I put it to mixer frist and then add hot water,it does not clumble and have a creamy texture. I feel I dont need any desert after drinking the Whey Hot after dinner. Bit pricy comparing to the bulk, I am wondering if the normal whey would take the hot water. I tried it cold, good too.

  • Choc win, Vanilla Chai meh

I liked the choc, very tasty and nice to have something hot but the vanilla chai I wasn't as keen on, bit too much vanilla and no chai flavour at all

  • Hot Whey

Very good product, do need to spend a little time (a couple of minutes) mixing and getting rid of the lumps. I've actually purchased a small whisk which seems to do it a little quicker.

  • Great Hot Drink

Posted by on Apr 17, 2018

I bought this product after having had many failed attempts at making my own hot protein drink, and it has worked brilliantly. Really need to follow the stirring instructions but that is not exactly hard! Love the vanilla chai but chocolate is a bit bland, but both are really creamy with just water and its a very convenient solution to getting enough protein and satisfying a sweet craving in one hit.

  • Better than expected

I'll be honest, I didn't have a lot of faith in a Protein hot chocolate, that's why I just got a few of the individual packs.
It is actually really nice though! I only use water with it to save on calories, and even with water it ends up quite creamy (I imagine with milk even more so).
The more I drink it the more I like it. Definitely still has that protein taste to it, but a great night time drink to top off my protein intake for the day.
My advice is to make sure you really really stir it up when you are making it into a paste, I left a few lumps the first time and when I added the boiling water I then ended up drinking lumps of powder... yuk. If you mix the paste well though, no issues.

  • Yum

This is really tasty but it's a mission to make up which puts me off a little. I really do like it just not how much mixing it takes.

  • Great snack

I ordered the mixed flavours. So far, vanilla chai is my favourite, chocolate tastes a quite bland. This drink is a great snack that will satisfy your sugar cravings. Highly recommend.
