The benefits of protein shakes for kids

Protein is vital for kids’ growth and development. Protein is a key requirement in growing bodies as well as supporting an active lifestyle. Protein is used primarily in muscles, but it is also integral for muscle repair, growth, supporting systems like bones and maintaining vital tissues.

Providing protein from whey concentrate and micellar casein, this blend supports daily protein requirements meeting 35% of the RDI* as well as contributing up to 20% of the RDI for calcium intake*.

High-quality carbohydrates to power the mind and body

Active bodies and curious minds need to be properly fuelled to perform at their best. All the body's tissues, especially our brains, work best when they have adequate glucose. Therefore, carbohydrates are an integral requirement for a child’s everyday activities. From providing them energy to play sports and keeping active, to providing them adequate fuel for the brain to ensure they can stay alert, concentrate, and make it to the end of the school day.

Carbohydrates can come in many forms, from simple (like sugars, processed cereals and lollies) to complex carbohydrates such as whole grains, pasta and grains. We have utilised carbohydrate sources from low GI options such as fine powdered oats to help slow digestion and aid in prolonged fullness and energy release. 

In addition, we have used maltodextrin, which is a more moderate carbohydrate source, ensuring their stores are replenished reasonably quickly and Pea fibre to help maintain fullness to help get your child through to their next mealtime.

There is a big emphasis on ensuring adequate vitamin and mineral levels are achieved each day. Known as macromolecules, these are important for the body for growth, immunity, and precursors in many of the body’s internal functions for growth and development.

Directions

Combine 1x 36g serving (1 rounded scoop) with 300-350mls milk or water and shake vigorously.
