Price Update: What’s Changing and Why It’s Happening

Why Are Prices Going Up?
A combination of global and local factors has pushed raw ingredient costs higher across the dairy industry.
Here’s what’s happening behind the scenes:
Supply Pressure and Strong Demand
When demand stays high, but raw material supply becomes tight or unpredictable, prices naturally rise.
There’s currently strong global demand for both WPI and WPC, alongside reduced milk production across parts of the Asia Pacific region. Even in areas where milk flows have remained steady — or increased — a smaller proportion is now being processed into protein powders.
Closer to home, Dairy Australia is forecasting a drop in local milk production for the 2025/26 season, a shift from earlier predictions of growth.
At the same time, protein powder is being used more widely than ever. It’s no longer just for shakes — you’ll now find it added to everything from muesli bars and cereals to snack foods, ready meals and even ice creams, further increasing global demand.
Farming, Processing and Manufacturing Costs
Whey proteins are a global commodity, so pricing isn’t influenced by local factors alone. The comparatively low Australian dollar also plays a role, increasing costs when sourcing ingredients on international markets.
At the same time, higher fuel, fertiliser and operating costs continue to flow through the supply chain and into the price of finished products.
And it’s not just dairy proteins feeling the pressure. Many of our other key ingredients have also seen substantial increases in global supply prices, adding to the overall cost of manufacturing quality supplements.

Quality Standards Matter
Every raw ingredient we use has to meet our standards for purity, food safety, macros, taste and responsible sourcing. We won’t compromise on these standards or switch to lower-quality ingredients just to keep prices down.
We also prioritise supply consistency, so the products you rely on are available when you need them. That means entering into larger, long-term protein contracts — helping us secure quality ingredients and reduce the risk of unexpected out-of-stocks.
Internal Controls and Efficiency
Even with our in-house production and tight cost control, we’re still influenced by global ingredient markets. Behind the scenes, we’re continually improving efficiency and productivity across our manufacturing processes to keep our own costs as low as possible.
We’ve absorbed rising costs for as long as we could, but to remain sustainable while maintaining the quality you expect, a price update is now necessary.
When Will the Increase Take Effect and Which Products Are Affected?

What’s Not Changing
While some prices are moving, a few important things remain the same:
Our Quality Standards
We maintain strict testing, food safety and quality assurance processes in our custom-built Tasmanian facility. Every batch is tested, verified and produced with the same care and precision we’re known for.
Our Commitment to Transparency
If something needs to change, we’ll always tell you in plain English — and with as much notice as we can. We understand everyone has a budget to work within, and giving you time to stock up at current prices is important to us.
Our Focus on Value
Even with these increases, many of our products remain more affordable than comparable, like-for-like supplements in Australia, without compromising on quality or integrity.

Will Prices Go Down Again?
For dairy proteins, it’s unlikely we’ll see prices return to the levels of the early 2020s. Based on current market conditions, both we and our suppliers see today’s pricing as the new baseline.
That said, there’s still potential for some easing over time. Towards the end of 2026, we may see modest reductions if market conditions improve — though we don’t expect prices to fall by the same amount they’ve risen.
As always, if and when we do get pricing relief, we’ll pass it straight on to you.
Smart Ways to Save Right Now
While we can’t always avoid price rises, there are still plenty of ways to keep your supplement costs down:
Buy in Bulk
Many of our products come with a bulk-buy option that offers built-in discounts — anywhere from 2% to nearly 15%, depending on the product and quantity. If you have staples you use regularly, this is one of the easiest ways to save.
Consider Alternatives
A lot of our products share similar nutritional benefits with slight differences. If your routine is flexible, product swaps can be a smart way to manage costs when one category is more affected than another.
For example, if WPI is stretching the budget, WPC can be a great alternative — offering excellent protein content and a similar macro profile at a lower price point.
